History

2000:

  • Merger with Braine-l'Alleud - Waterloo Hospital.
  • On 11 July, creation of the non-profit association A.S.B.L. CHIREC ('EDITH CAVELL INTERREGIONAL HOSPITAL GROUP- BASILIQUE, BRAINE-L'ALLEUD - WATERLOO, EDITH CAVELL, LAMBERMONT AND PARC LEOPOLD HOSPITALS)

2001:

  • A group of doctors were welcomed from a clinic in Walloon Brabant and the Bois de la Pierre Medical Centre in Wavre was opened.

2002:

  • The organisation came close to bankruptcy but was saved through a financial contribution from the institution's doctors and through bank loans.

2002-2005:

  • The institution's financial and economic health was restored, and the scope of its activities improved.

2005-2010:

  • Major renovation work on all sites. 
  • Opening of new buildings at Cavell, Parc Leopold and Braine-l’Alleud, after construction work that had begun before the crisis in 2000. 
  • Extension plan for Braine-l’Alleud. Decision to move from the sites in Brussels to a single Delta site in around 2017.
