Obesity center - Team
The team includes all the specialists involved in treating obesity:
- gastrointestinal surgeons,
- medical nutritionist,
- dietitian,
- psychologists,
- gastroenterologists,
- specialist anaesthesists.
It also has direct access to medical specialists in many fields: cardiology, respiratory medicine, diabetology and sleep medicine.
Our coordinator, who is specially trained in all aspects of bariatric disease, is responsible for welcoming patients, helping them to settle in and managing all their contacts with members of the team.
Dr J. HIMPENS, who is head of the unit, has an international reputation in bariatric surgery and has personal experience of more than 7,000 operations, as well as giving surgical demonstrations at the most prestigious workshops.
He is known internationally for his special expertise in repeat operations to remedy failures of previous bariatric surgery ("redos").
