Hand surgery - Description

Our Hand Surgery Department brings together specialist, general, orthopaedic and plastic surgeons who work mainly at the Parc Leopold site, where a Hand Surgery Centre was founded in 1980; some of the surgeons operate at the Cavell and Basilique sites.

As you know, the hand is an incomparably precise but also extremely complex tool.

Effective treatment of diseases affecting the hand therefore demands a multidisciplinary approach involving surgeons specialising in this area, rheumatologists, electrophysiologists and physiotherapists. This multidisciplinary approach lies at the heart of the work of Parc Leopold's Hand Surgery Centre, which is affiliated to the European Federation of Hand Emergency Services. This brings together the European Hand Surgery Centres which have qualified surgeons and high-quality equipment, allowing them to deal with any emergency and in particular limb replacement surgery, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our specialists attend international conferences and their scientific activities are now recognised both nationally and internationally thanks to their original research projects.
