General Hospital Pediatrics

Braine-l'Alleud Site

The pediatric inpatient unit at Braine-l’Alleud welcomes children under 15 years of age who require hospitalization for medical, surgical, or psychological reasons.

Our multidisciplinary team, made up of pediatricians, specialized nurses, and child psychiatrists, provides complete and personalized care in a supportive environment

Care Provided

We work in partnership with Nutrikids to carry out full nutritional assessments during a two-day hospital stay, and with Allergokids for the performance of oral food challenge tests..

One-day hospitalizations (One Day) are also available for minor surgical procedures or digestive endoscopies.

The pediatric department works with the teams at Le Domaine to offer emergency beds (“crisis beds”) for adolescents experiencing psychological distress.
Close collaboration with a child psychiatrist also allows for the treatment of anorexia nervosa and eating behavior disorders.

The unit offers overnight hospital stays to perform polysomnographies (sleep tests) in children under one year of age, in order to evaluate and treat sleep-related breathing disorders.

Thanks to our partnership with the René Van Geffel School, hospitalized children can continue their education throughout their stay, helping maintain their balance and connection with school life.

Neonatology and Maternity at Braine-l’Alleud

The non-intensive neonatology unit cares for newborns from 34 weeks of gestational age and weighing more than 1500 grams. Our teams support babies who need help adapting to life outside the womb, particularly through respiratory or feeding support.

The maternity and neonatology services work closely together to provide personalized care for mothers and their babies from the moment of birth.
