Pediatric Pulmonology and Allergy

Braine-l’Alleud Site

Our pediatric pulmonologists and allergists manage the assessment of respiratory (asthma, chronic cough) and allergic conditions. They can perform pulmonary function tests (PFTs), skin allergy tests, and oral challenge tests to help identify the cause of symptoms.

They also manage food and drug allergies.

Desensitization to specific allergens can also be performed when appropriate.

Examinations and Treatments Performed

This test analyzes the type of respiratory problem to help diagnose or rule out asthma. The pediatrician will ask your child to blow into a machine and perform a few exercises.

This test is performed on the skin to detect an allergic reaction, usually on the forearm or back.

This test involves exposing the patient to a suspected allergen that may be causing certain symptoms. In some cases, the pediatrician may suggest performing this test during a day hospital stay under monitoring.

Our pediatric pulmonologists and allergists participate in the ALLERGOKIDS allergy clinic and work closely with other specialists to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
