Hand Rehabilitation

Our department and its specific features

The department specializes in the management of conditions and injuries affecting:

  • the elbow
  • the forearm
  • the hand
  • the fingers

These conditions may be of:

  • traumatic origin
  • surgical origin
  • peripheral neurological origin
  • degenerative origin

Our goal is to restore mobility, strength, coordination, and hand function, while promoting patient independence in daily activities.

Our team consists of:

  • 5 occupational therapists
  • 12 physiotherapists

All are specifically trained in hand rehabilitation.

Care is comprehensive and personalized, combining functional rehabilitation and occupational therapy to meet the specific needs of each patient.

Our physiotherapists

The department designs custom-made orthoses tailored to each patient’s therapeutic needs.

These orthoses help to:

  • protect
  • support
  • correct
  • facilitate functional recovery

They are adjustable and evolve according to the patient’s progress throughout rehabilitation.

We also welcome external patients referred by their surgeon or physician.

This close collaboration ensures continuity of care and a consistent, high-quality treatment approach.

Our expertise is based on recognized and specialized techniques such as:

  • diacutaneous tenofibrolysis (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization)
  • neurodynamic techniques
  • MAPS (Specific Progressive Analytical Mobilization)
  • management of tendon repairs according to the Elliot and Manchester protocols

These approaches allow for precise, targeted, and individualized rehabilitation.
