DIALL 112

Paediatric podiatry

A consultation is recommended if the child presents with:

  • frequent falls
  • in-toeing or out-toeing gait
  • heel, knee, or back pain
  • fatigue when walking
  • recurrent sprains
  • pain during sports activity
  • insufficient improvement with physiotherapy alone

Sport and growth: an important factor

The increase in sports participation among young people leads to more overuse-related conditions. A podiatric assessment helps identify excessive mechanical stress and correct it early.

The podiatrist performs:

  • postural analysis
  • gait observation
  • dynamic assessment
  • examination of the growing foot
  • analysis of sports-related stress

The goal is to determine whether a biomechanical disorder is contributing to the symptoms.

When necessary, custom insoles are made following a full assessment.
They mechanically compensate for static and dynamic imbalances in order to:

  • reduce pain
  • prevent injuries
  • improve posture
  • support functional growth

Follow-up is carried out in collaboration with:

  • pediatric orthopedic surgeons
  • physiotherapists
  • sports medicine physicians
